Rikku is an optimistic, playful, kindhearted powerhouse. Standing at 5'2'' with a shock of blonde hair and green eyes, her pupils are spiraled, a characteristic of the Al Bhed. She seems to take up more space than her stature would suggest. Maybe it's the vibrant shock of orange, green and yellow that adorns her. Most likely, it's simply that she never seems to stay still, dancing about with a seemingly endless (and annoyingly contagious) supply of energy.
Rikku is the daughter of Cid, the leader of the Al Bhed, a marginalized group caught in a flux of racial tension and the targets of prejudice for a Milenea. This does not damper the girl's positive outlook on life. Unlike some of the un-evolved on both sides of the conflict, she never looks or treats someone as less than equal. Perhaps because she holds no grudges, she is skilled with languages while many of the Al Bhed refuse to leave their own language out of spite. She speaks Al Bhed and the common language of Spira as though native to both.
Rikku is a chatterbox, she's very extroverted, and can be rather oblivious to the term "personal space". Many may find her endearing, to a quiet or withdrawn people however, she may be rather overwhelming.
The Al Bhed homeland was destroyed, however the clan claimed a desert Island for a home base, simply referred to as Home. Years of nomadic living in between do not leave the blood easily however, and Rikku spent much of her life as a vagabond. Traveling with a band of thieves, and con-artists, often salvaging Machina (Machines). She is a skilled and completely unapologetic pickpocket.
Rikku has an affinity for Machina, capable of repairing and controlling them. Her personal Machina arsenal include;
Oblitzerator - Agile, tank like weapon. Equipped with attacks "Blitzball Rush", "Blind Ball", and "Mute Ball".
Extractor - Agile, tank like weapon. Strikes deployed include "Aquashooter", and "Depth Charges".
Rikku has an affinity for chemistry, and is known to mix concoctions that range from creating methods of attack, defense, and can lend some abilities that normally require magic. Mixing is a fine art however, and it's hard to find the freedom and ability in the rush of battle. This limit's Rikku's reliance on her alchemy abilities.
Rikku's primary attack is as a combatant, her weapon is the Godhand, a gauntlet armament that adorns her right arm from shoulder to hand, ending in a claw. On her left arm she wears a protective mit, used as a close range shield. As Rikku is small and lithe, her attacks rely more on speed, agility and trickery than brute strength.
Rikku suffers from a sever and debilitating case of Astraphobia, fear of thunder and lightning, after her fool of a brother nearly killed her as a child with a misguided lightning spell.
